Academic Mentorship

I am a mentor at Aarhus University, where I guide students through academic challenges, career development, and personal growth. My role is to help mentees navigate university life, structure their studies, and gain clarity on their professional goals.

One of my key strengths as a mentor is my structured and adaptive approach. I understand that each mentee has different needs, backgrounds, and learning styles, so I create personalized mentorship paths that ensure they progress at a pace that suits them. This approach makes it easier for mentees to track their development, communicate more effectively, and feel confident in their next steps—whether it’s in academics, career planning, or personal growth.

Drawing from my own experiences at Aarhus University, I focus on:

  • Structuring their studies – breaking down complex academic tasks into manageable steps.
  • Career mentoring – guiding them on how to present themselves professionally, build a strong portfolio, and enter the job market.
  • Personal development – providing support in self-management, confidence-building, and leadership skills.

This personalized approach allows me to provide guidance that is both practical and relatable, ensuring that students feel supported and empowered throughout their university journey.

Mentorship in Creative & Cultural Projects

Beyond my work at Aarhus University, I am also a mentor for young creatives and cultural organizers through my projects at Paletten, Kulturambassadører Viborg, and Vibstock Festival. Here, my role is to empower young people to take ownership of their ideas and turn them into real cultural projects—whether that’s organizing concerts, developing artistic initiatives, or stepping into leadership roles within the creative industry.

I apply the same structured and personalized mentorship approach in my cultural projects as I do at the university, ensuring that young creatives:

  • Understand the full process of project management, from idea to execution.
  • Gain practical skills in event planning, marketing, budgeting, and networking.
  • Develop confidence in leadership and decision-making.

For example, in Kulturambassadører Viborg, many young participants had big ideas but felt overwhelmed by the event planning process. Instead of applying a one-size-fits-all approach, I designed individualized mentorship tracks, helping each person find their strengths, their role, and clear next steps. As a result, they successfully organized their own concerts and cultural events—learning not just the logistics but also how to take ownership and lead their projects independently.

Supporting and Coaching Those from Challenging Backgrounds

In addition to professional and academic mentorship, I also support young people from challenging backgrounds, including those who have struggled with mental health issues, difficult family situations, or trauma. I believe that everyone deserves access to guidance and support, regardless of their circumstances.

For these mentees, I provide:

  • Personalized coaching to help them build self-confidence, structure their goals, and find stability.
  • A safe space to navigate challenges and develop strategies to overcome obstacles.
  • Encouragement to embrace mistakes as part of growth, so they feel empowered rather than discouraged in high-pressure situations.

Having overcome challenges myself, I understand the importance of having someone who believes in you and provides a structured way forward. That’s why I am committed to mentoring not only in a professional and academic sense but also in a human and personal way, ensuring that young people—especially women—feel supported, included, and ready to take on leadership roles in culture and society.

My Rules

It is strictly forbidden for me to share any information about my mentees – especially those participating in the coaching program. I have deep respect for both mentoring and coaching, and it’s incredibly important to me that my mentees feel safe and respected in our relationship.

I never disclose anything about the coaching process, especially when working with individuals from very traumatic backgrounds. What I can say is that every single person I’ve worked with has found a way to move toward a better life – discovering purpose, strength, and reasons to keep going. They are incredibly strong individuals.

A coach, for example, can help uncover the setbacks you’ve experienced and how those challenges can become motivational forces in your life. My strategy is not to tell people what to do, but rather to guide, listen, and analyze – so they themselves can see that their future holds hope, possibility, and growth.
